Freckleton

This picturesque village won the Large Village Class of the Lancashire Best Kept Village Award in 2019
 

On 23 August 1944, a B-24 Liberator of the USAAF crashed onto three houses and a school in Freckleton when attempting to land at Warton Aerodrome. 61 people were killed, including 38 children.
